Aaron Platt
Aaron Platt
Biography
Director
Aaron Platt’s work takes on the form of a pugilist: deft of movement, full of power, surprising with every new hit.
From a young age, Platt was drawn to film and photography. He showcased his third student film The Cold Ones at Sundance, a film which also nabbed him the “Most Promising Filmmaker Award” at the 2004 Ann Arbor Film Festival. Not bad for a junior in college.
With the one/two combo of Director/DP, Aaron has demonstrated a wide range of visual style across his body of work, from the graphical whimsy of a GAP fashion campaign to the gorgeous wanderlust in Mercedes. His keen eye for detail is instrumental in his work as a DP in music videos for such artists as Justin Timberlake, Bono, and Coldplay.
Aaron goes for the knockout punch on the directing side as well, being nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for his work on the film Wild Tigers I Have Known and featured as one of SHOOT Magazine’s “New Directors to Watch.”
(This means you should watch him. Go on. We’ll wait.)
